Fall Allergy Testing for Kids
Because of its generally warm, humid climate and abundance of native plants and trees, Georgia has an unusually long allergy season. Child and adult allergies may extend well into fall, even when temperatures have begun to drop. One of the most prevalent allergens present at this time of year is ragweed, which can cause hay fever and other allergic symptoms.
If your child is suffering from fall allergies, bring them to AGC Pediatrics for non-invasive allergy testing. The sooner you can identify what is causing your child’s allergies, the sooner you can help them find relief.

Non-Invasive Pediatric Fall Allergy Testing
At AGC Pediatrics in Cartersville and Calhoun, we use a form of non-invasive allergy testing called Allervision. Allervision is a highly effective alternative to the standard skin prick allergy testing method. This method is especially well-suited for pediatric patients, because it is non-invasive and only causes some mild discomfort.
To carry out the testing procedure, the pediatrician will first clean the skin on the back with an alcohol swab. Next, the first set of antigens will be applied; most of our little patients say that it feels like small pokes. This sensation will last only briefly, and will be repeated five times. Patients may experience some itching after the procedure from positive results.
