Non-Invasive Allergy Testing
Chronic respiratory conditions such as recurrent allergic rhinitis or other severe allergies are more than uncomfortable for your child; if left untreated, they can also develop into dangerous respiratory conditions such as asthma. But for most children, skin prick allergy testing is a frightening prospect.
AGC Pediatrics is pleased to offer painless, non-invasive allergy testing from Allervision for all children ages 2 and up. The test itself only lasts 30 minutes, with results ready for review in just 15 minutes.

What to Expect from Non-Invasive Allergy Testing
When your child arrives for a non-invasive allergy test, one of our qualified medical professionals will first clean the skin on his or her back with an alcohol swab. Using a small application device, the first set of antigens will be applied to the skin. Your child will feel small pokes from the testing device, but this will only last for a few moments. The test will then be repeated in five separate areas of the back. Your child can expect slight discomfort, as well as some itchiness from any positive results.
Your child may be a candidate for non-invasive allergy testing if her or she:
· Suffers from allergic rhinitis, a condition more commonly known as “hay fever.”
· Experiences severe, recurring allergic reactions, such as hives.
· Suffers from respiratory conditions such as asthma.
· Is at least 2 years of age.
