Dr. John Joyave, DO
Family Medicine Physician 


We are excited to announce the upcoming addition of Dr. John Daniel Joyave, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine to the AGC Pediatrics family! He is the son of John and Timie Joyave and the nephew of Dr. Joseph and Sharon Joyave. Dr. Joyave is married to Sydney Lux Joyave. Their first child Madeline was born in 2019.

Dr. Joyave is Board Certified in Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), and has completed his residency at McAlester Regional Health Center in McAlester, OK. He will be practicing at the Sonoraville Big and Small office, and will be accepting patients of all ages when we fully launch our family medicine branch.

He mostly practices at our AGC Big and Small office in Sonoraville, But he will sometimes be located in Calhoun or Cartersville at the moment. 

Wayne Darville, MD   Pediatrician

Dr. Darville graduated from Oakwood University 1980, Chemistry and Zoology, University of South Florida College of Medicine 1984 Emory University, Pediatric Residency Training Program 1987. Special Interests: Pediatric ER and Trauma, Procedures, Life-Flight and Angel Transports. Served in the Departments of Pediatric as well as the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine as Associate Professor.  “My heartfelt purpose is: Serving families as they grow together in health and harmony.” Dr. Darville sees patients in the Calhoun Main Office. 

Annalise Cawley, MD   Pediatrician

Dr. Cawley graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine. She trained at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. Dr. Cawley has been treating children for over 10 years now.

AGC Pediatrics is proud to welcome her back to our practice, after she has spent 4 years in Covington, GA. She will be treating all pediatric patients, including behavior consults in the Cartersville offices, Main and Behavioral Well Clinic. . 

Tim Chomyn, Ed.D.   Psychologist

Dr. Tim Chomyn received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 1972. He went on to complete his Master's degree in School Psychology at Georgia State University. In 1985, Dr. Chomyn earned his Ed.D. in School Psychology from the University of Georgia. For the past 27 years, he has worked as a Clinical Psychologist. He sees patients at Calhoun AGC Too Well Clinic.

Rebecca Moore, NP-C   Nurse Practitioner

Becky graduated from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing in 1997, started working at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston and Scottish Rite in the Emergency Dept for 7 years.  Graduated from Georgia State University in 2002 with an MS in Nursing, Certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  Becky lives in Kennesaw with her husband Steve and children, Charlie, Sara and Wesley. She sees patients in the Cartersville Main Office. 

Lisa Reed, PNP - C     Nurse Practitioner

​Lisa graduated from Georgia Baptist College of Nursing in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in Science of Nursing. After graduation, she worked at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston as a registered nurse in the NICU and Step-down unit for 3 years. She graduated from Georgia State University in 2002 with a Master's Degree in Pediatric Nursing, and became a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Lisa began working at  AGC in 2006. She was born and raised in Cartersville and is excited to serve the community that she grew up in. Lisa and her family attend Cartersville First Baptist Church where she and her husband, Chuck, teach third grade boys Sunday school. Lisa serves on the Youth ministry team board. Patients also might recognize her from substituting as the school nurse at the Cartersville Primary and Elementary schools, where her two boys Adam and William attend. Spare time is spent enjoying family time, taking the boys to sports and music lessons and relaxing at the lake. She practices at the Cartersville Main Office. 

Valerie Burns, MD, FAAP Pediatrician

Dr Burns was born in NYC and attended City University of NY for her undergraduate work. She went to SUNY at Stony Brook for medical school. She trained in Pediatrics at Nassau County Medical Center on Long Island. Her first years of practice were in the Sea Islands off the coast of South Carolina. Her husband was an anesthesiologist and her third child was born in Beaufort. They moved to Florida in 1993 with their three children. She worked at the Volusia County Health Department. In the office, Dr. Burns is interested in children who struggle with their weight and ADHD. Out of the office, her favorite activities are caring for their two dogs, Duncan and Hugo and knitting. She is a voracious recorded books listener. Dr. Burns sees patients in our Cartersville office.

Kelsey Hooper FNP-C
Nurse Practitoner 


​We are pleased to announce the addition of Family Nurse Practitioner, Kelsey Hooper, to the AGC family! Kelsey is married to Hayden Hooper of Chatsworth, GA. 

Kelsey is a long time resident of northwest Georgia, and has chosen to practice within her community! She attended Shorter College for her undergraduate studies, and received her master's degree for Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of North Georgia in 2019. 

Kelsey is currently practicing in the Calhoun office.  

 Linda Green, FNP   Nurse Practitioner

 Linda graduated from Jacksonville State University with a BSN in Nursing in 1983.  She spent most of her nursing career at Gordon Hospital, working as an OB nurse doing labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care, and as manager/director of the OB unit.  During this time, she attended Emory University for her Master of Science in Nursing and practiced several years as a Certified Nurse Midwife, assisting in the birth of nearly 600 new Gordon County residents.  Most recently, she completed a Post Master's Certificate at Frontier Nursing University and became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She joined the AGC Calhoun staff, Main office and AGC Too in January, 2016, and discovered a love of Pediatrics. She feels now that her career has come full circle as she finds herself caring for many adolescents and children knowing that she was present for their birth.

Courtney Johnson, PA  Physican's Assistant

Courtney attended the Undergrad:University of TN at Knoxville, and received a Bachelor of
Science in Biology, 2008. She completed
PA School: South College in 2010. Courtney has been with AGC Pediatrics since 2011. She enjoys dressing up with the patients for holidays and fun days in the Calhoun Main Office. 

Stephanie Morgan, NP    Nurse Practitioner

Stephanie graduated from Kennesaw State University School of Nursing with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing.  Upon graduating, Stephanie was employed with Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta as a Registered Nurse. Stephanie was employed with CHOA for over 4 years, where she worked in all facets of pediatric nursing. Stephanie attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she obtained a Masters Degree in Pediatric Nursing and became a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.  Stephanie has a passion for pediatrics and enjoys the challenge as well as the educational opportunities associated with this population. Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys traveling, Atlanta Braves baseball, being outdoors, and family time.​ She sees patients in our Cartersville Main Office. 

Robert Harris, L.M.S.W.    Therapist

Robert received his Master of Social Work from Kennesaw State University. Robert spend seven years studying for the priesthood, receiving his B.A. and in philosophy from Saint Meinrad Seminary and spent his last two years studying theology in Rome, Italy. He has over twenty years experience working with children and families in crisis. On his free time, Robert enjoys gardening, college football and home restoration.  Robert sees patients in both the Cartersville Behavioral and Well and Calhoun AGC Too Well Clinics.

Matthew Rumsey, M.D.    Pediatrician

 Dr. Rumsey received a Bachelor's degree in French from Southern Adventist University. He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California and then completed a residency in pediatrics at the Universit of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida.  
​His clnical interests include adolescent medicine and behavioral medicine. Dr. Rumsey sees patients in the Cartersville Office, Calhoun Office and Calhoun AGC Too Well Clinic. 

Joseph L. Joyave, MD   "Dr. Joe"   Pediatrician

​Board certified in Pediatrics since 1993, Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Masters in Pharmacology from Auburn University.  WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!  Trained at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama in Medicine and Pediatrics and with 6 years of service in the Air Force as a Pediatrician and Flight Surgeon.  Interests in Behavioral Medicine and Chronic Illnesses in Children.

Dr. Joe is not currently seeing patients. He is CMO at Gordon Hospital at this time.
